Bookworm Online Store

Background

Bookworm is a conceptual bookstore, envisioned both as a physical entity and a digital platform, crafted as part of a web design course. The primary aim of this project was to forge a unified brand identity capable of seamless integration into the digital realm, while maintaining its standalone value as a traditional bookstore. At Bookworm, users have the ability to delve into an extensive database of inventory, explore a variety of merchandise, discover upcoming community events, and immerse themselves in the rich history of the bookstore's founders.

Design Process

From the outset of this project, I envisioned the Bookworm brand as whimsical, soft, and inviting. I was drawn to incorporating playful, worm-like squiggle shapes and selecting a palette of light, cheerful colors. The font chosen for the logo further complements this vision, echoing the cozy, welcoming ambiance one longs for in a bookstore—reminiscent of a comfortable couch one can sink into.

For the online iteration of Bookworm, my objective was to maintain a design that is straightforward and user-friendly. I integrated bursts of color to not only captivate and engage but also to remain true to the brand's aesthetic alignment.
